Samantha and Emile came up from Brooklyn (my hometown) to get married at Tralee Farm in Stone Ridge, NY. A few days after the wedding, they emailed me and said, “You really set the tone for the day and for our marriage! I’m so happy that we had you as our officiant. Everyone thought you were an old friend of ours and it certainly felt that way.” I felt the same way — I felt like I knew them forever … and I did get to know a lot about their love story. Samantha and Emile did handfasting and “washing of hands” in magic herbs and botanicals in their ritual. I chose chrysanthemum, rose, sage, lavender, jasmine, and camellia. It’s a spiritual and cleansing moment as the couple puts their hands in the bowl together. Then it becomes a really great keepsake.
